WHO CAN QUALIFY FOR A WELCOME BACK HOME LOAN PROGRAM??

The Welcome Back Home Loan Program is a very low-interest home mortgage program to help you renovate your home, purchase a new home, or purchase and renovate an existing home in Orleans Parish. The low-interest mortgage rate is as low as 5.6%.

Welcome Back Home Loan Program is not limited to the first-time homebuyer. Any home owner who wants to renovate their home or anyone who wants to buy another home for her/his principal residence can qualify.

While this program does not generally allow for the refinancing of a first mortgage loan, there are limited exceptions in connection with a ‘qualified rehabilitation’ and in relation to new construction. Please refer to “Guidelines for the Existing Homeowner” and “Guidelines for the Home Purchaser” for the exceptions to the ‘no refinance rule’.

Welcome Back Home Loan Program is designed to help families in all income categories, two-thirds of this $25,000,000 mortgage loan program is restricted to families of 3 or more with annual incomes of $73,220 and families of 2 or less with annual incomes of $62,760. The remaining one-third of this program has no income limitations.
